Seamless and secure mobile number verification

Presentation

The NUMBER VERIFY V1.0 API allows application developers to verify, in real time, whether the mobile phone number used in a digital journey matches the number associated with the user's authenticated mobile device. For an online service, this check allows:

  • To validate a phone number (06...)
  • To authenticate a user by their mobile line seamlessly in an internet journey (possession factor)
  • To replace sending a code via SMS

Two conditions for proper operation:

  • A user journey on a mobile device
  • A connection to the mobile network (3G/4G) of the device

How does it work?

        User initiative

        The user carries out a transaction or journey on the internet using their mobile line.

      2. 2

        Authentication request

        The merchant site or online service provider wants to authenticate the user's line. It asks the operator to verify that the connected phone is indeed the user's phone.

      3. 3

        Verification result

        If the verification is successful, the user can proceed. Otherwise, the site chooses another authentication method.
