Standardized network APIs to simplify application integration
CAMARA is an open-source project launched by the Linux Foundation. It aims to define service APIs by combining network APIs on an operator domain.
This project works in close collaboration with the GSMA Operator Platform Group to align requirements and APIs definitions, and to publish the APIs.
Several operators support the CAMARA initiative and have already provided the first CAMARA APIs.
Thanks to this initiative, developers can benefit from a set of standardized, easy-to-use APIs without any telecom expertise.
These APIs meet regulatory and data privacy requirements and facilitate the integration of applications into the network.
Please note: This initiative aims to define service APIs by combining network APIs on an operator domain. This means that the scope of CAMARA APIs will go beyond the scope of identity, and that these APIs could globally be used in contexts other than fraud detection and prevention.
An online service provider wishes to simplify and strengthen its user identification process.
The use of one or more CAMARA APIs from the mobile operator allows, with or without user consent, to perform verifications using the mobile phone number.
The user securely finalizes their journey with the online service provider.
