KYC Tenure

Assess trust and reduce fraud by verifying the seniority of the mobile operator relationship

Presentation

Nowadays, the mobile phone is the primary device used to access the Internet. Consequently, any data associated with it is highly valuable for identifying the user behind it. This is why mobile identity has gained significant importance in recent years, in order to verify that Internet users are indeed who they claim to be. The ability to strengthen the level of trust placed in mobile identity can significantly help our clients make more accurate decisions and reduce potential risks of fraud.

This is precisely the objective of the Know Your Customer TENURE API. It allows establishing a level of trust regarding mobile identity by verifying the seniority of the user associated with a phone number with their current mobile operator. By seniority (tenure), we mean the period during which a phone number has been associated with a given user at their current mobile operator.

How does it work?

  • KYC TENURE

      1. 1

        Online action

The user performs an online action where the mobile phone number is involved (account creation, payment, credential recovery...)

      2. 2

        Tenure check

For security purposes, the website verifies the SIM card seniority to assess the risk of fraud.

      3. 3

        Risk management

If the verification is successful, the user can proceed. Otherwise, the website triggers an internal signal to manage the risk of fraud.
